The true subject of this photo is the glowing mountain range wrinkling the horizon, highlighted by orange rays from the incandescent star. The range is called the Puy de Sancy and is the highest in central France. The use of the HDR technology helped reveal the shades of orange in the clouds as well as the details of the terrain below, for your viewing pleasure.
